The Association of Cameroonians in the Philippines (ACP Inc.) encourages all members of our community to remain vigilant as Super Typhoon Bavi, which will be locally named "Inday" upon entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), is expected to affect parts of the country in the coming days. Although current forecasts indicate a low probability of a direct landfall over mainland Luzon, the storm's immense strength is expected to bring heavy rains, strong winds, and dangerous sea conditions through the enhancement of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

Northern and Eastern Luzon, particularly Batanes, Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), and the Ilocos Region, may experience strong winds and heavy rainfall, with Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals likely to be raised. At the same time, enhanced monsoon rains are expected to affect parts of Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, Western Visayas, the Negros Island Region, the Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, and SOCCSKSARGEN, increasing the risk of localized flooding, flash floods, and landslides. Coastal waters in northern and eastern areas are also expected to become rough to very rough, making sea travel unsafe for small vessels.

We encourage all members to take preventive measures by monitoring official weather advisories, charging mobile devices and power banks, preparing emergency supplies, and avoiding unnecessary travel to flood-prone or landslide-prone areas. Those living in affected regions should remain attentive to announcements from local government units and disaster management authorities, particularly if evacuation advisories are issued. Community members are also encouraged to check on friends, relatives, and fellow Cameroonians who may be living in areas expected to experience severe weather.
