Within the Association of Cameroonians in the Philippines (ACP Inc.), our cultural associations serve as living bridges between our roots and our lives abroad. They preserve traditions, strengthen solidarity, and create spaces where members can support one another while celebrating the diversity that makes Cameroon truly "Africa in Miniature."

In this first edition of our Community Spotlight series, we turn our attention to CENSEL, a vibrant association bringing together Cameroonians originating from the Centre, South, East, and Littoral regions of Cameroon. Rich in cultural heritage, these regions are home to diverse peoples, languages, traditions, and histories that have contributed significantly to the identity and development of Cameroon. Through CENSEL, members continue to nurture these cultural ties while actively contributing to the broader Cameroonian community in the Philippines.

Under the leadership of President Guy Honoré FOMESSING, supported by Vice President Stella EVINA, Secretary General Morgane MAHI, Assistant Secretary General Fidèle ANDZONGO, Treasurer Alice AKONO, Auditor Andrew Junior, and Censors Cedric AROGA and Eric AKONO, CENSEL continues to demonstrate that cultural associations can be powerful engines of solidarity and community engagement.

Beyond preserving cultural identity, CENSEL is actively involved in initiatives that directly impact the lives of its members. Its current program includes monthly meetings that strengthen bonds among members, visits to sick compatriots scheduled for the end of June 2026, outreach visits to incarcerated compatriots later in the year, and preparations for its end-of-year celebration. The association is also preparing a friendly sporting encounter with a sister community in August, further promoting friendship, wellness, and intercultural exchange.

What makes CENSEL particularly inspiring is its understanding that community life extends beyond cultural gatherings. It is about showing up for one another during difficult moments, celebrating achievements together, creating opportunities, and ensuring that no member feels isolated while living far from home. This spirit reflects the values that continue to unite Cameroonians wherever they may be.

As ACP Inc. continues this series, we encourage all members to discover, support, and participate in the activities of their cultural associations. These groups are not only custodians of our heritage but also pillars of solidarity, belonging, and mutual support. Through them, our diversity becomes a source of strength, and our shared identity as Cameroonians grows even stronger.

CENSEL reminds us that while we may come from different regions, we remain one people, united by our roots, our aspirations, and our commitment to one another.
