Minutes of the Extraordinary General Assembly of the Association of Cameroonians Residing in the Philippines (ACPINC)
Date: June 29, 2025 Venue: McKinley Rd, Makati City, Metro Manila, Philippines
Agenda: Revision of ACPINC's Statutes (Constitution)
On this radiant Sunday, June 29, 2025, ACPINC members gathered for a day of paramount importance in the life of our dear association. The atmosphere was filled with solemnity and fraternity, perfectly reflecting the spirit that animates our Cameroonian community in the Philippines.
Spiritual Opening of the Day
The day began under the best auspices with a Eucharistic Mass celebrated by our esteemed spiritual guide, Father Bertrand. His inspiring words resonated in our hearts, reminding us of the importance of cardinal virtues and benevolence towards our neighbors. Father Bertrand, with his customary wisdom, invited us to reflect deeply on the ephemeral nature of earthly possessions, encouraging us to focus on the essential values that unite us.
Opening Ceremony of the Extraordinary General Assembly
At 2:00 PM sharp, in a solemn yet warm atmosphere, our president, Mr. William FOMA, opened the Extraordinary General Assembly. The session began with a common prayer, followed by the Cameroonian national anthem, sung fervently in our two official languages, French and English. This moment of patriotic unity infused the assembly with positive energy, conducive to the constructive discussions that would follow.
Meticulous Revision of the Statutes
Under the expert guidance of our Secretary General, Mr. Stephane Motapon, the assembly undertook the arduous but essential task of revising our Constitution. We must commend our bureau's diligence in distributing the text to be amended several weeks in advance, allowing each member to familiarize themselves with the revision's stakes.
The revision proceeded in a spirit of open and respectful dialogue. Each point, article, and chapter underwent careful examination, leading to rich and constructive exchanges. The debates, though sometimes animated but always courteous, allowed for consensus to emerge on the modifications to be made, with each decision being ratified by a democratic vote of the assembly.
Unanimous Adoption of the New Constitution
Following these thorough discussions, the new Constitution was adopted unanimously with collective satisfaction. This document, the fruit of collaborative work, now fully reflects our association's realities and aspirations. It will soon be promulgated by our president and widely distributed to serve as a guide for our future actions.
Vote of Confidence in the Current Bureau
In a spontaneous gesture of gratitude and confidence, initiated by certain members and supported by our spiritual guide, Father Bertrand, the assembly proposed a motion of support for the current bureau. This initiative aimed to extend our leadership team's mandate in recognition of their dedication and excellence in their work. The general assembly unanimously approved this motion, allowing our bureau to complete ongoing projects, notably the crucial visit of the diplomatic mission for the renewal of consular and administrative documents.
Presidential Announcements and Future Prospects
Taking advantage of this assembly, our president, Mr. William FOMA, shared exciting news concerning our association's future. He notably mentioned partnership agreements being signed with various institutions and companies, promising substantial benefits for our members.
Furthermore, Mr. FOMA provided a detailed update on the much-anticipated consular visit, providing a comprehensive status update. He warmly encouraged all Cameroonians to continue their enrollment, emphasizing the importance of this process for our community.
The Extraordinary General Assembly concluded in a festive and convivial atmosphere, reflecting the solidarity that unites our community. The day was marked by significant advances for our association, with the adoption of a modernized Constitution and the renewal of confidence in our bureau. As we parted ways, the smiles on faces and warmth in hearts testified to the general satisfaction and optimism about ACPINC's future. This day will remain etched in our memories as a powerful moment of cohesion and progress for our Cameroonian community in the Philippines.
